Why we keep making excuses for f*ckboys

While the term f*ckboy may only be known to womenkind and some enlightened males, this description of a certain kind of guy has “graced” our planet and now makes judging one heck of a lot easier. Turning once more to the world wide web and its sheer endless knowledge, I quickly figured out that the term f*ckboy/ fu*ck boy/ f*ck-boy describes more than a single persona. The behaviorism I personally associate with this word however, is the leading on of girls for hookups. The before mentioned specimen doesn’t want to deal with relationships but wants the physical benefits of one and thinks exclusively of himself and is therefore very egocentric.

Fear of Failure

fear-of-failure

Lately I’ve been overwhelmed with the feeling of physical and mental exhaustion. Paired with the fear of failure, this makes for a rather unpleasant cocktail of emotions, one of them being anxiety, which seems to haunt me more or less. I know that comparison is the thief of all joy but I am wired that way and sort of blame our society (along with myself) for making me believe that this tauntingly obnoxious ridicule is the norm.

trying something new #3 : baking healthy cookies

healthycookies

single woman’s new best friend

I don’t usually “recipe”; for pragmatic reasons and reasons of laziness and because cooking and baking for myself doesn’t require family measurements. Except for that one time I thought I had to make a full-on Thanksgiving meal from scratch including vegetarian and partially vegan options for my friends and call it Friendsgiving. ( In the end the company I had made up for the preparation and the hard work and the stress I tried to keep on slow-cook .) Anyways if  I ever do indulge in some baked treats and choose to follow a recipe why not go the extra mile and make them healthy ?

Prom and Economics

236-2

*valley girl voice: Praahm*

Saying prom is kind of a big deal would be the understatement of the year. The preparation going into four hours of not looking like a potato that is worrying about AP test-scores and this vortex called future is enormous (and sometimes what makes this once a year event worth it). (more…)

The best year for my nails yet – look back?

IMG_6730

packing is a virtue

I started biting my fingernails in first grade because my already chubby fingers had to be made more disturbing to look at. It’s not like I didn’t want to stop, I just couldn’t. The biting happened sort of unconsciously (that’s a no brainer) without me making the decision but I eventually was able to reduce the biting to a minimum and only ever disrupted my nails and their appearance when I got stressed. Truthfully though, with exams every other week it was sort of a constant state, even if not as bad as in the beginning. As you may know, or not know, I was an exchange student in the US for a year and well, things changed.

Feminism and the guinea pig generation

I am not afraid to consider myself a feminist, even though the word has a negative connotation in a world where it is hard to not offend anyone. It is about equality of the genders and not a radical idea trying to convert everyone with a vagina into a man hating mob. The first time I was unconsciously introduced to the concept of feminism was far before I called myself a feminist and or could properly understand what was meant by that term.

Rant: non-gendered

Sometimes you just need to write down whats on your mind in order to analyze or understand the thoughts that have been flashing before your inner eye. And that’s exactly what I did when I took ten minutes out of my day, sat down and just wrote a short little text about a topic most likely everyone can relate to . So let me just say goodbye at  this point rather than at the end because I don’t see this as a blog post but rather as a thought process I invite you to listen to.
see ya,

Sophie

Urban farmer + pocket rant

ufheader

Writing a relatively irrelevant introduction is considered an attention getting device or just a way to easily bore people as you go off topic. Something I have to address though because I am very passionate about it, is pants without pockets. A mysterious and useless invention found only in the women’s section bringing me to today’s question: why do pants for women not have pockets?
