trying something new #3 : baking healthy cookies

single woman’s new best friend

I don’t usually “recipe”; for pragmatic reasons and reasons of laziness and because cooking and baking for myself doesn’t require family measurements. Except for that one time I thought I had to make a full-on Thanksgiving meal from scratch including vegetarian and partially vegan options for my friends and call it Friendsgiving. ( In the end the company I had made up for the preparation and the hard work and the stress I tried to keep on slow-cook .) Anyways if  I ever do indulge in some baked treats and choose to follow a recipe why not go the extra mile and make them healthy ?

Calculus, College and Crippling Anxiety

It is statistically proven that teen stress rivals that of adults. My, our generation is facing a new level of stress due to different factors, but what is almost more worrying than this fact is that most teenagers underestimate the stress and what it does to their physical and mental health.

Prom and Economics

*valley girl voice: Praahm*

Saying prom is kind of a big deal would be the understatement of the year. The preparation going into four hours of not looking like a potato that is worrying about AP test-scores and this vortex called future is enormous (and sometimes what makes this once a year event worth it). (more…)

The best year for my nails yet – look back?

packing is a virtue

I started biting my fingernails in first grade because my already chubby fingers had to be made more disturbing to look at. It’s not like I didn’t want to stop, I just couldn’t. The biting happened sort of unconsciously (that’s a no brainer) without me making the decision but I eventually was able to reduce the biting to a minimum and only ever disrupted my nails and their appearance when I got stressed. Truthfully though, with exams every other week it was sort of a constant state, even if not as bad as in the beginning. As you may know, or not know, I was an exchange student in the US for a year and well, things changed.
